About The Project

This Georgian home has to be one of my favourite projects over the years. This full house renovation had nothing short of ‘the works’ done to it.

With the most tranquil of settings with a lake to the front of the property surrounded in large private grounds. The owner wanted to renovate this home as a safe space for his children and himself. A big kid at heart wanting to really have fun in terms of functionality, style and design.

The traditional billiards room that was created which leads on to the amazing home cinema has to be the most talked about spaces in the project. The level of craftsmanship in these rooms were flawless. The coffered ceilings to our coving expert Pete many weeks to complete, the handmade oak panelling with inbuilt bar and hidden tv (picture above fireplace).

Bathroom renovation and tiling for listed homes in Ironbridge

Challenges

The billiards room was extremely difficult for the carpenters. Making the oak panelling with fine detailing took some time and then choosing the colour for the stunning ceiling.

The kitchen island layout ended up being changed so the client could walk through it instead of walking all the way around it. Functionality always stayed at the forefront of the kitchen design.

Special Skills Employed

The home networking system Control 4 allowed the client a more secure and stress free lifestyle at home. This allowed features on an iPad style screen to control things like music in each room, security cameras to the exterior, lighting and heating. Our expert Rob leads the field in the area and also installed the cinema room.

The ceiling in the billiards room had traditional painting techniques with gold leaving on the column lettering.

Also, the family room attached to the kitchen some wide width Lewis & Wood wallpaper.
